The Southern West Midlands Neonatal Operational Delivery Network aims to put on study days for multi-disciplinary staff within the Network at minimal cost. However the cost depends on the venue and sponsorship. If you book a place on a course and cannot attend please notify us as soon as possible as we often have a waiting list for the days. If you do not notify us at least 48hrs prior to the study day that you will not be attending you will be charged.

The Francis Report (2013) identified the importance of appropriate education, training and competencies for the registered and non registered workforce, to enable them to care effectively for patients and families. Patient centred care should be central to both pre-registration education and continual professional development (Willis Commission 2012)

The Southern West Midlands Neonatal Operational Delivery Network develop and facilitate a variety of courses and study days for multi-disciplinary staff. These include University accredited courses such as Nursing the Surgical Neonate University accredited at level 6 and 7.

Our programme also includes in house study days such as Hot Topics Respiratory Difficulties and many others.

Our innovative Enhanced Communication Course has received a GOLD AWARD for its content and benefit to multidisciplinary staff from Health Education West Midlands. This course which is open to all staff, has been attended by medical, nursing, midwifery, support and administration staff all of whom have found this extremely beneficial.
